Reservoir Engineering Manager 


Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Provides QA/QC for technical geothermal reservoir engineering analysis.
  • Oversees the implementation of cost-effective reservoir surveillance programs that provide information required for resource management decisions, reserves calculations and financial planning and are compatible with Operational Excellence standards.
  • Collaborates with other technical disciplines, operations and planning groups to prepare business and strategic plans that reflect asset development plans and capital funding requirements.
  • Manages annual OPEX budget of approximately US$16 MM and responsible for generating a capital portfolio of projects of US$75 MM annually.
  • Manages the performance of direct reports by setting performance goals and measures, conducting regular performance reviews and creating and implementing employee development plans.
  • Works with Senior Leadership Team to maximize the expected value of Geothermal & Power’s assets in Indonesia by creating business plans that consider the full range of strategic alternatives and properly address uncertainties.
  • Represents Geothermal in reservoir management technical networks and works proactively to help the networks achieve corporate goals.
  • Ensures compliance with all company policies, OE processes and applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Directs the efforts of internal and external consultants to ensure that appropriate technologies are identified, developed and applied to solving critical problems.
  • Supports Business Development efforts to expand geothermal in Indonesia through new field development and partnering.
  • Develops and implements a succession plan for the department.
  • Represents company positions to government agencies, partners, and lenders, and ensures that all DSPL lender reporting requirements are met by providing underwriting information for DSPL insurance program, assisting with preparation of annual Pertamina Work Plan and Budget, and assisting with preparation of government manpower plan (RPTK).

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Engineering. Ten years of experience in Petroleum/Reservoir engineering may be accepted in lieu of academic preparation.
  • Geothermal reservoir engineering experience is required for this position with demonstrated advanced skills in both short term and long term asset development planning. Specific technical skill focus should include (but not limited to) a geothermal understanding of resource characterization, reservoir simulation, uncertainty analysis and mitigation planning, well performance testing and anaysis, decision analysis, well construction and stimulation planning/implementation, and awareness of available technologies that are appilcable for geothermal utilization.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve results, build team consensus, and work effectively & collaboratively in a multi-discipline/ multi-cultural environment. Has a demonstrated history of team supervisor experience. Has exhibited history of mentoring and transfering knowledge to less experienced professionals.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide timely work plans and budgets. Experience in monitoring project expenses. Ability to develop and maintain in-house training programs for core technical skills that are unique to the geothermal industry. Skill focus includes generating and updating detailed project schedules, including resource loading, and ensuring that cross functional teams have the required resources for success.
  • Demonstrated diverse knowledge of geothermal technical disciplines. Demonstrated ability to effectively integrate all aspects of subsurface evaluation, PGPA, Legal, Planning (Decision Analysis), Drilling, FE, and Business Development into Asset development plans.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills; strong team player and proactive communicator (verbal and written).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead small team within cross functional disciplines; provides supervision; coaching and mentoring to staff.
  • Ability to interact with customers, management, and local community officials.
